Saturday July 25th../63 Kindest Mother I seat myself to acknowledge the receipt of your kind letter of July 19th.., which came at hand last night; It seems like a long time since your last, but I suppose you are working as hard this summer as ever Oh how often I think of you and thankful that I have got as good a Mother. I shall never forget your many kind teachings and advice that I have followed as near as I could. I have been helping in the Ward some today, but it dont take much to tire me, I keep myself well engaged reading and writing. I read the papers and Library Books. I have got a very good Book now, the title is "The pictoral History of Greece, I think it one of the best of Books; I have read the History of Massachusetts and visit to Camp before Sevastopol one of Harpers Monthly Magazine
