and Young American, besides reading a daily paper every day, I think if I stay here long I shall get posted some on war matters & History; It is now after supper and I am sitting by the window writing while Monroe is just at my right hand reading, Just in front of my paper is a little tin pail that we bought and now we have some of those berries and currents you sent. stewed they are very good
Mother you cant think what a handy Hospital this is and how well it is governed; every thing is kept very nice and clean. I am [flishing?] up some but dont know as I am getting much stronger; my hair has not grown any since I had the fever, it is short and very hash but does not come out any yet; I am going to have it cliped off a little see if it wont make it grow.
I must close for tonight it is nearly dark, I will finish in the morning
