The paper states that the draft is going off in Buffalo now, and I should think the draft would commence in Cattaraugus soon if they intend to draft, and I hope they will for the Government needs the men and that is going to bring the war to a close soon if the war is prossecuted vigorously now. It looks to me as if the Rebels had not much now to encourage them, but their leaders keep the soldiers under such strict dicipline that they do not know their condition and when one does find it out, and realizes it, he generaly deserts, as a great many did in Penn.. but as for me I shall never go home if I have to desert to do so. I am getting more strength now but my hair has most all come out I have not put anything on my hair yet but shall get something soon that is recommended very good; I think my hair will all come out then have some ne,. wont that be nice Mother? I have had my Photograph taken, and have sent one to Libble and will send one to you, I got
