mans share will weigh about two thirds as mutch as a common sheet When we first drew then the boys done considerable of swearing and many swore they never would carry them but when we went on the Scout to the mountains they took them along and soon learned that they ware a good institution and now all are in favor of them Tell Mrs Macy that asked John today if he did not want a discharge and he quickly answered no. There is no way for to get William Appletons papers corrected unless he was here for we have tried the experiment with several whose papers are just like his but can do nothing It would have been the best plan for him to have reported under the Presidents Proclimation and demanded transportation to his Regiment and then he could be discharged.
