Murfreesboro Tenn. June 6" 1863 Mrs. Sarah Davis Dear wife Yours of the 1st inst. come to hand today and found me in my usual good health And Oh how glad I should have felt had you been able to say as much for yourself but it appears as though you cannot and I only hope you are not in as dangerous a situation as you represent. If you are in the critical situation that you think you are and you and your friends know of any doctor who is likely to do you any good and you are able to get to him go by all means. And if not able to go to him have him come to you and dont falter or grieve any more about the cost for what is money without health And what amt. of money would hire you to suffer the way you do. Therefore if you have any idea that the Dr you speak of in Dayton being able to do you any good go to him or Send for him immediately. If he can cure you without haveing to perform an operation he is the one to do it but all the Dr. that I have talked with thinks you will have to have an operation performed sooner or later. before you ever recover entirely. If there was any chance for me to get home any way I would quickly come but at this time there is no such a thing as a man getting out of the Service in any other way than by doing something contrary to Orders and being disgracefuly dismissed the service and I do not want to do that yet
