You asked me what I had heard that made me enter for the race. I told the reasons in a letter which I wrote to Ken Husted some two weeks since and I requested him to show you the letter, But I am very much afraid that the Morgan Raid has changed the prospect of affairs and particularly so if them two Companies have been mustered into the Service, I am looking anctiouly for a letter from Henry evry day now and expect he will give me some information in regard to the matter, that is provided he thinks any thing about it dureing the excitement, I found the letter containing my Handkf, and 2 others from you in my Desk when it come up, but as I have saw you since they ware written I will not answer them, I will be kept very busy writing for some time as the company buisness is very much behind hand owing to the baggage being left behind and as it was at the end of the Current Quarter at which time we have a great many reports to make out makes work plenty,
