I am glad to hear that your health is still improveing and that the children are all well. My health is excellent although the hot weather has taken considerable of the surplus flesh off of me as I now only weigh 151. lbs, but then what I have is solid, and good for anything that comes along, Dureing the daytime the weather is very warm but at nights it is pleasant, We are now ready for a march and would not be surprised to hear the Strike tents call at any moment and still we may not hear it for one week or more. We have ten (10) days rations loaden in the wagons. and evrything goes to show that when we do start it will be over the mountains and onward towards Knoxville or Chatanoga, But of one thing we are quite sure and that is that when we do go we will have a hard time for the first day or two at least for we have a very steep mountain to climb at the first start and will have to help the Artillery and wagons over it and in such hot weather as this it will be hard work, but the boys are prepared for it and console themselves with the remarks that they only have months now to serve.
