Chattanooga Tenn. Oct. 6th 1863 Mrs. Sarah Davis Dear Wife Yours of the 25th ult come to hand Several days Since but as I had written one to you only the day before I received yours and have been quite busy all the time Since I have defered writing until tonight. I was very much grieved but not at all Surprised to hear of a relapse of your disease as I heave been fearful all the time that you would overwork yourself and bring on the disease again. I was glad to hear however that you was better again and hope that ere this you are able to be about as usual. Well as regards to Nan, I guess She had better get her head insured for I think that She would Soon make a fortune at it. Tell Orrilla I am glad that She is able to take care of the Sick and wounded and hope that She acquits herself in Such a manner as to give entire Satisfaction to her patients. Tell Dolly that I have got a little wooly dog with me which I intend to bring home with
