thought is madness yes worse than madness and to think of the thousands that have left their quiet homes and families for the tented field and to bear all the privation of the soldiers life while he remains in camp or is hurried by long tiresome marches and often hard fare all this to gratify a few aspirants for power for it was such who are at the heart of the matter men who thought by a change of constitution thought of the power that might fall into there own hands i do hope such may suffer and the noble [sons?] of our great republic may outlive the horrors of war and live long to enjoy the victory they may gain over their foes such an uprising among our young men must have astonished the Mobocrats of the South such volunteering for
