with them and I wrote for his likness but did not get it Oh how I wish I could see you all if you were within 50 miles I would see you but we must be submissive I suppose you have got the news from here pretty near all by writing to Randolph but I know you would like to hear from Mrs Fergeson in particular she is failing very fast she cannot come over here as she used to do without we bring her but she still can pray and you may be sure she does not forget the poor soldiers and our country she is still the same sweet old Granny and often talks about you with tears in her eyes It seems as if we are almost alone here for there is none gone from our immediate neighborhood and there seems to be but little sympathy for you know no one can feel so unless they know something about it Our babe is four months old and growing fast and sucks the bottle I will have to quit for to night for it is almost eleven oclock Saturday night Good night Monday night 25 8 oclock I now sit down to finish my letter it has been snowing all day and looks very wintry looking it makes me feel very badly when I think of the poor soldiers it seems that they will have need of all our sympathy our charity and prayers for they are in a very bad place but all things come right to the righteous for Christ is all in all to them and my daily prayer is that whether they live they may live unto the Lord or whether they die they may die unto the Lord that whether living or dying they may be His We have the promise if we come (not saying, prayers) but praying we will be heard and answered and surely the prayers of Gods people will not fall to the ground without his notice 0 let us be ernest
