JANUARY. 25. Commence Drilling Orders to drill two hours in the forenoon and two in afternoon - Batallion Drill twice a week 26. Weather warm and pleasant Rumors in Camp of having to march perhaps as a scout Leave camp at 4 O,clock P M and march to Moorsville, 22 miles, against 3 Oclock, A. M. in the following morning 27. Resting near Mooresville Ala 17th and 80th were ordered to the support of the cavalry near Athens - who were attacked by the rebels, - Rebels repulsed with loss, Start back to camp
