I believe I wrote to you that William had reenlisted, he has done very well this time he has a very good and easy position he is Vetinary Sergt,, of the Regiment. his pay is $15. per month,, and clothes and rations furnished there will be other changes in the Company soon I think, every thing is going [?] we will be paid in a few day, our pay is a little better now, I will send you some money when we are paid if there is not a prospect of going home soon, The weather is very pleasant, it is more like May than January Health is good the Company is in very good health, Some of us were a little stout width but the Scout is cureing that rapidly. I am sorrow that I wrote to you that we wer comeing home, but I was very sure of it then, we will have to become accustomed to disappointments for they are not unusual in the army, dont look for us now till the war is over I am a soldier now for the war, but will go home on furlough as soon as the Company goes, there is about 6 men in the Regiment, but what [has?] re-enlisted (that could re-enlist) you can imagine now whether we are tired of the war or not, tell Abner not go into the army I will do his part of the Soldiering for I know I am more able than him. I am very anxious to hear from you it has been a month since heard from you last
