are in Camp are well. William is not very well but nothing serious I think is the matter with him. There is no news to write every thing is very dull here. the troops have nearly all gone out on the expetition. I want aletter from home real bad I have not had aletter from home since I left and I have written every oppertunity The time passes very slowly now with the Company nearly all out. I do wish I was with the boys. How are you passing the time now? do you have any nice books to read? if there is any book that you want I will send it to you if I can get it. have you had any rides since I left? is Miss Young staying with Mother yet. and how do you like her? I want to know and where you spent your 4th? I passed my 4th at Cairo Ill. it was a pleasant day although there was nothing unusual done at that place. I was on board
