To all whom it may Concern: Know ye, That Asahel Mann a First Sergeant of Captain M. S. Holtzinger's Company, (A,) 4th..Regiment of Iowa Cavalry Veteran VOLUNTEERS who was enrolled on the twelfth day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty three to serve three years or during the war is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States, this second day of February, 1865, at Louisville Kentucky by reason of being promoted to 1st..Lieut. of his Co: (No objection to his being re=enlisted is known to exist.*) Said Asahel Mann was born in Hendricks Co. in the State of Indiana, is 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark/fair complexion, hazel eyes, light/brown hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a ............. Given at Gravelly Springs Ala this twenty=first day of February 1865 A R Pierce Major Commanding the Reg't This sentence will be erased should there be anything in the conduct or physical condition of the soldier rendering him unfit for the Army} [A.G.O.
