is so much noise I can hardly write the boys are Hurrawing and the Cannon firing and some are shooting their muskets the army is all Excitement It seemes almost like a battle thare is so much fireing of Guns and Hurrawing the army is just right for a fight if Johnson, was to attact us now he would get the worst whipping that he ever got I just went to the door and I could see Rockets going up in every Direction we received news to day that was Confirmed that Richmond was ours I think the Eastern army Deserves great Credit for capturing the City and Prisnors thare was a large number of Rebs came in and gave them selves up here and have been sent to Wilmington I think we will all be home by the Fourth of July I hope we may wont thare be a big jubill in the States when the army returns from Dixie Jennie I would like very much to visit you I think i could enjoy my self it seems like writing to sisters when I write to you and Sallie I would give any thing in
