I have but little idea when we will be discharged, we get but little news here that is reliable. I am very anxious to go home but will try to be content, until we are discharged. This is a very pretty Southern town but is crowed with rebel soldiers. on their way home. all are satisfied with the war. Our Soldiers all regret the death of our President I am very anxious to hear from you home folks I hope you are all well and as happy as I am to night. tell Sallie I will expect to have the honor and pleasure of attending her weding soon. Milt. has given his opportunity of writing to Mr. Gallop. as he is a married man. I am not a married man but dont know how soon I will be.... but I will talk of that in the future. I have only 30 minits to write. and must send a few lines in Will's letter home. Do not forget to pray that your friend may yet be spared to return. And we must not forget to thank our Heavenly Father for bring about a happy peace. Give my love to Sallie and all the friends Milt sends his love to all. Your most affectionate friend Ael. Mann
