4. Remove from the stove & beat adding a tsp of vanilla & the nut meats. When it creams form into balls. Best Candy Ever Put two cups of white sugar 3/4 cup of golden syrup & 1/4 cup of water in a granite saucepan. Boil until it becomes crisp when dropped into cold water. Meanwhile whip the whites of 2 eggs in a large bowl. Pour the syrup mixture slowly in the beaten eggs. and stir & beat until it begins to harden. add one spoon of vanilla , 1/2 cup of nuts & 5 [cents] worth of dates or figs then cut in squares
