when we reached camp not half of the Brigade was in ranks It was dark, and soon after getting in camp it began raining making it a night of misery to us, we having just come out of our snug quarters which we had fondly hoped would be our winter quarters. We left them without a sigh however, believing it for the best. (Vertically at left:-) Our trip back after Hood who is in our rear. 4th Got off at 7. marched to the river, crossed on a pontoon.
