Water uncommon scarce to-day Men glad to drink out of the water holes by the roadside Heard reports of a fight having taken place at the Green river bridge in which 4000 of our men as overpowered and compeled to surrender, Met these men going to Bowling Green having all been paroled They are Indianians and fine looking fellows We hear that they are fighting 8 or ten miles in front of us We halted near the tunnel at 4 P.M. having gone 24 miles today Today's march is very hard on us going all day without halting an hour,
