All of our wounded were removed but some rebel yet lay on the field The burial of the dead was going on as fast as possible, Two young ladles here on the field in search of their brothers one of them being in the Federal and the other in the rebel army Some 500 yds on our right two regiments of cavalry dismounted and had a sabre fight in the true ancient style This is what we saw of the battle of Perryville
