These 15 mile marches are more (or seem so) trying on us, than our forced marches some time ago, All come into camp very much fatigued Putnam claiming the honor of being in the battles of Shiloh & Perryville (Vertically, at left:-) Sunday 2nd Got on the road and passed Cave City. The fields are all stripped, fences burned and everything seems destroyed on this route, Plenty of water Had a fine day for marching made about 14 miles Camped on a desolated field 15 miles from Bowling Green
