238 Marion, Iowa Mar. 23 - 1914 Cary Club met with Mrs Shumack. In the absence of the Pres. the Vice Pres. Mrs Pyle presided. Seventeen members responded to Roll Call with quotations. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mrs Alderman gave a Review of the book, The Melting Pot and Mrs Bishop, a description of Ellis Island and Work among the Foreigners. Mrs Blinks read an article entitle "Being Mrs Presidents Social Secretary" After Current Events, given by the members present, Club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs Alderman. Mrs Pyle Mrs Waffle Pres. Sec. Marion, Ia. 4-6-1913 Cary Club met with Mrs Alderman. In the absence of the President, Mrs Pyle our Vice President, presided. Secretary being absent, Mrs Pyle appointed Mrs Shumack to act in her place. Eleven members responded to Roll Call with quotations. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The Debate on Woman's Suffrage was very ably discussed by Mrs Hutchinson, and Mrs Winter. Mrs Brown made the subject "Civic Responsibilities" very interesting. Current Events were then given. Club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs Cross Mrs Pyle Mrs Shumack Pres. Pro Tem. Sec. Pro Tem.
