74. Bite of Mad Dog Sage Leaves & Rue of each one handfull 2 or 3 heads of Garlick 4 pennyw:th of good Treacle, a good Qu:ty of Tin Scrapt small, boyl all these together in strong Ale if for a Beast, for man in Strong muscadine in a pipkin stopt close w:th coarse paste, it must be set in a kettle of water on the Fire, give it the [party?] 3 times a Day before the full & change of the moon for a month Ditto A large handfull inward Rhind of a Buckthorn tree boyl it in a quart of new milk till tis come to a pint, let The person drink this off every other morn: for three times or oftner if you think there's occasion 75. To apply to the Part bitten Dissolve some treacle in Aqua vitae, rub the part w:th it till it bleeds, then dip some lint in it & lay on the part & lay on some Garlick, onions, honey & Turpentine, all beat together & laid upon it
