Quarts of the strongest aqua vitae, stop it very close, but stir it twice a day for 4 Days put some saffron into it. you may take 4 or 5. spoonfuls at night & as many the next morning & fast two Hours after it, it will purge gently, it cures the Cholick in the stomach or Bowels & the bloody flux or gravel in the Kidneys, you may take it as a Dram if you find yourself not well, but not so large a dose, strain it, but as you use it till it has stood 3. or 4. weeks. For the Cholick Rhubarb & Juniper berries of each one ounce, Liquorish 1/2 an ounce, snake Root two Drams, Infuse all this in two Quarts of double anniseed water for 12. days, for a grown Person six spoonfuls & in proportion for younger 117.
