into a glass jarr, with a [illegible] in it, and put to it 2 pony worth of harts horn, one ounce of cloves and mace together, one ounce of nut-meggs quarter'd, an ounce of annifoods, 2 ounces of liquorish slic'd and scrapt, one pound of raisons of the sun ston'd, a pound of figgs slic'd, 6 pony worth of saffon [illegible] up in a rag, as much double refin'd sugar as will sweeten it to your tast, stirr them well together, let you glass in the sun to infuse a week or fortnight, set set it by for use, and when it's halfeout fill it up again with fresh brandy, stirr it all well a bout, and put in more sugar, and when it's quite out fill it with wine lees, or brandy, putting into it 2 handfulls of balm, the same of mint, and you will have a pleasant cordiall water The white surfeit water. Take a gallon of new milk, 6 handfuls of [illegible], 3 of mint 5 of wormwood, shread them small, stoop them all night and in the morning distill them in a cold still, take 4 or 5 spoonfuls of french Barly, put to it two quarts of water, boild it a quarter of a hour, then take out the Barley and put it into fresh water and boile it again in a third, till halfe be consumed then strain the Barley from the water, and boile in the water a [illegible] strawberies leaves, violet leaves and a little suckery, strain out the herbs, keep the liquors inan earthen pott, and warm halfe a pint of it to a time, sweeten it with sirrup of violets, let the party if in a flavor drink of this 2 or 3 [illegible] a day.
