up, which is as clean as parlor when we left it, but then the beds had to be all renovated the walls whitewash the Frank=hearth blacking, & refixing in general. Now sister when we wont these hearth to burn when the fire is low we place a paper before the mouth & only give a small draft & it draw powerful; we have stoves here in this hospt.--Their is three wards here at hospt No. 1 each ward is about two hundred & fift ft long & thirty wide contain some hundred-fift beds in each ward.--The beds is made is all iron except the bottom is springing boards half inch. thick, the iron of the bedstead is only about quarter inch thick & about two ft high, a person lays very comftable on these beds. Two mattress, & three white blankets & one coverlet flowered or figured two pillows, sheets, &c.
