A Composition for Cleaning Mahogany Furniture Mix over a slow fire 4 ounces of clear Bees wax & take it off the fire & whilst boiling stir in 4 ounces of spt turpentine. Lavender Water G. Hobun Esqr. Oil of Lavender 2 teaspoons Essence of Burgamot 1 1/2 do Essence of ambergrease 40 drops Oil of cloves 20 drops Rectified spirits of wine a pint Sponge Cake approved 1 1/2 lb of sugar beat fine 14 Eggs leaving out the whites of three. 1 lemon peel & juice 3/4 of a pd flour well dryed beat 20 minutes Baked in a [slowish?] oven. To Make Lemon cream The rind of 4 large lemons pared very pour upon them a pint of boiling water add to it when cold the juice of those lemons 3/4 lb of loaf sugar, the whites 12 Eggs strain it through a seive, and simmer it over a slow fire, then take it off & whisk it for a few minutes.
