Lip Salve 1 1/2 oz oil of Almonds. 1/4 oz White Wax 1/2 oz of Spermacetti; a few drops of oil of Roses & a small bit of Alkanet Root will color it pink. Put the Wax, Spermacetti,& oil of Almonds into a Pot & melt them in a saucepan over the fire. To prepare Biscuit Powder for Infants Mix 4 dessert spoonfuls of Powder to a Paste with a little cold water. Pour on it about a pint of boiling water, boil from 10 minutes to 1/4 of an hour stirring all the time. Add Sugar to taste. Pour into a Basin & let it stand till cold then it will form a stiff paste When required for use take 3 dessertspoonfuls of the Paste, thin it with cold water till it is all beaten through a strainer Pour it into a Bottle & fill up with milk. N.B. This quantity of Paste will last 2 or 3 days
