41 [written in upper right hand corner] Carrat or Camp Vinegar - 12 cloves of garlic well rubbed with pounded Bay Salt - 1 quarter ounce ["quarter" written above "ounce"] cayenne pepper - 2 Spoonfuls of Indian soy a small quantity of cochineal pounded put them into a Quart Bottle of best wine vinegar for 6 weeks, then Strain it off - keep it close and it will keep for Ever - [true?] by Mrs. C. [Chandler?] good Receipt for Complaints in the Bowels of Children - Beet [Turkey?] Rhubarb in powder 3 Drams [illegible] Bark in powder 1/oz. dram Cinnamon in powder 1 dram Infuse them one night in 2 Tea - spoons-full of good Brandy the next day pour it into a Bason and [from?] it mix 2 ounces of white Sugar and Strain the whole - one or two Tea - - Spoonfulls according to the age of the Child - Mrs. [Caroline?] [Capen?]
