Tea Scones July 27, 1900 1 lb of flour 2 oz of butter 1 tablespoonful pounded sugar 1 egg 1 pinch of salt - Rub the butter into the flour add baking powder sugar & salt mix the egg with as much new milk as will make a light dough, roll out lightly until half an inch in thickness; prick all over and bake in moderate oven for twenty minutes - Mrs. Clark
