Mrs. Robert Reynoldson's receipt for an excellent pudding. If youl'd have a nice pudding pray mind what you're taught. Take two pennyworth of eggs when they are twelve for a groat And of the same fruit that Eve once did cozen Well pared and well grated at least half a dozen Six ounces of bread let the maid eat the crust And pray let it be grated as fine as small dust Six ounces of currants and pray pick them clean Or they'll grate in your teeth you know what I mean Six ounces of sugar wont make it too sweet Some salt and some nutmeg and then its complete And if you've a mind to be clever and handy Some good lemon peel and a large glass of brandy Two hours will boil it without fuss and flutter And then serve it up with some good melted butter
