Cucumber Pickles Mother Gay Small pickles are best. Wash & let lie and wilt 24 hours. Then pour over them hot water, well salted & let lie 24 hours. Scald vinegar enough to cover them & add to it cloves (powdered) & a little black pepper also a very little cayenne pepper. Very strong cider vinegar should have a little water added to it.
