but us (we are ecceptions). I have a great desire to see the west. If father & mother would move out there I think we would all be ready to come along. Father says he would like to see Iowa. This Uncle & Aunt & Cousins but never intends to settle there he wont promise when he will come. I think he will write to your father perhaps he will say more about it then. The latter part of the summer here was very dry we had no rain of any account for about three months untill the last sunday, the rain fell in torrents last sunday & untill monday the schuylkill floded it was nearly as high as in 1850, thousands of Dollars worth of property were swept away all along the river. Buildings fences, lumber, bridges, of acres of corn were destroyed. Wee expect some of you in this winter, O I would like to see you come I think you would be glad to
