Wednesday, April 28th 1869 Wedsday Eve 27. Today has been very pleasent. This morning it looked for rain but it did not. looks a little cloudy this eve but don't think it will rain. Today there was a man here to traid horses. taken dinner. said "it has been a long time since I ate hear last" think he was only jokeing after dinner heard him ask William about traiding. he said his tradeing horses was out on the prairie. Mother said "now Will you better not think of that" the man said, Well now you must not be put down to the opinion of woman in such things. but when Mother said well listen, he is just makeing fun of you for it is that old beast that has been runing in the [illegible] with the [sore foot?] O, that one, better let her run for the good she has done - he was not quite so anxious to traid after that he whent up to Grassons from here. May 3rd 1869. Mond. 3. Today has been very pleasent the air has been but slight today and the sun shone very warm all day. This morning Mrs [Wooteon?] came after some corn stoped after for butter got seven pounds, seen the Dr. [about?]
