as good as "Uncle Toms Cabin." The characters were quite to angelic for my fancy. I mean the hero & heroine & another couple. They were so naturally good & so wonderfully beautiful & wise that they did not seem a bit like people. Seems to me that most story's lately are all of one kind. They remind me of Physical Geography. There is the predominant system, consisting of the hero & heroine & towering up, like the mountains, far beyond common people & common things. The secondary systems are the friends & other ethereal characters surrounding the mountains. Lastly there are the low plains, alias, some queer people, usually consisting of one great characteristic, as "Uncle Fliakim" in "All town Folks who, like a
