She showed us an album given to her sister by the soldiers in one of the Hospitals in Washington where she was nurse. It was full of the pictures of her patients many of whom died under her care & once in a while a picture of the wife & children of some grateful soldier. It is, of course, very precious to her. Papa, Mamma, May, Grace & myself went riding at about 5 P. M. and did not return till 8 oclock. We went to Mr. Ham's house, near Eagle Pt. & I found lovely May apples, Ferns & ect Sent Mrs. H her present last night. Monday 29th. It rained so hard about noon today that I did not go to school & the few who did go were dismissed. Papa started for Des Moines this evening.
