Tuesday, July 4th. 1876. The greatest day that has occurred, or will occur for 100 years! The "Fantastics", as is usual on the 4th, went around, rousing almost every one with their hideous noises. My " sweet repose & ect)" was not disturbed, however. Ella K, Linna, Mamma, May & I went to Papa's office to view the procession. It was very good, indeed. Almost everybody thought that the "Continentals," outshone the car of State. "Goddess of Liberty, English knights & soldiers, William Tell & all the others.
