Reading Journal. Commencing July 5th 1876. Containing an account of what I read, and my opinion of some articles & ect. July 5th 1876. At the H. S. S. read English History, (Markham's) from Alfred the Great until the Norman coquest in 1066. No opinion in particular, excepting that it seemed like this Alfred & his sons, grandsons great grand sons & ect, lived, were good or bad, fought the Danes, & died. Thursday July 6th. I attempted to read an article in "Harpers Monthly" of June, 1872 entitled " The Explorations of Di Cesnola in Cypriss" but as it was getting dark & I found too scientific reading for me, I soon stopped.
