Jaundice Take a Teaspoonful of Turmerick Night and Morning in a little Honey or Treacle and drink Saffron in your Tea It seldom fails But be sure to have the best Turmeric for there is a bastard sort. NB a vomit is sometimes necessary Take notice Turmerick is called in America by its Latin name which is Curcuma curcuma
For the Jaundice{ Take 1/4 ounce Rhubarb powder, 1/2 ounce Castile Soap Shave the Soap thin, make it into pills. Dose from 2 to 4 twice a day. drink also Saffron tea made strong also some Columbia Root. made into a drink_ Avomit is generally necessary to commence with, 
Influenza Take a moderate dose of Calomel if the head is much affected by it also Take 15 drops of Antimonal wine in a cup of tea 4 or 5 times a day keep in bed or within doors untill the violence of the disease is gone NB if the head is much affect[ed?] take a dose of Calomel
The [illegible] Commonly called the things evil Drink a pint of Burdock-root tea every day for 4 Months if necessary This has cured hundreds  Or Take 3 [illegible] of salt petre every day dissolved in a cup of ginger Tea Let it be taken at three times That is a [illegible] each time I have cured many with this A grain or two of quinine may also be take every day this will strengthen the person and hasten the cure
For Diseases of The Liver Mrs Burrows receipt Take of what is the Blue Ipicacuanda in powder 12 grains mix them and divide into 6 pill Then take Columbia root a Dram and half shave it thin put it into a Tea pot and add three quarters of a pint of boiling water and keep it by the fire side two hours Put into a cup and if feverish or thirsty put into it half an ounce of salt [illegible] and if casting half an ounce of salts also Take one pill every night and two Table-spoonsfull of the mixture half an hour before breakfast and also at 11 oclock This is for full grown persons
For The Same Drink Liver-wort Tea- Dandelion Tea is also very good They may be taken together if you please Take also the following medicines Take Extract of Hyosiamus (commonly called Henbane) 4 grains of Calomel 1 grain Ipecacuana half a grain Rhubarb in [illegible] 3 grains To be made into one pill (or two if the person prefers it) This quantity to be taken every night as long as may be necessary And while taking the above take a wine glass-full of the infusion of Columbia-root twice a day on an empty stomach If the case is very bad it will be very [illegible] to give 5 Grains of Calomel the first night and a dose of Physic the next morning Then stay one day and follow the above plan Take Take notice the Columbia root must be sliced thin have boiling water poured upon it put to simmer by a slow fire for
