A Good Plumb Cake Take 3 lbs of Flour 3 lbs fresh butter 5 lbs of currants 1 1/2 lbs loaf sugar 1 lb of almonds 1 1/2 lbs of orange peel 3 nutmegs, 24 eggs, The eggs to be well beaten, the flour well dried the sugar well sifted, the almonds and orange peel cut fine, the nutmegs well grated, then to be all well mixed together. Mrs. G A Rich Cake Take 1 lb of ground rice 12 oz of sifted loaf sugar 10 eggs leaving out 4 whites, to be beaten 1 hour and baked in the usual way. Mrs. G
