For Toffy One pound of Treacle, 1/2 lb sugar, Butter the size of a Walnut, & a little lemon juice - Boil 3/4 of an hour or longer if required. Put it in Tins well - buttered. Try it first Mrs Crowfoot Soda Cake 1 lb of Flour, 1/4 lb moist sugar, 1/2 lb of Butter 3/4 lbs of Currants, 1 egg, tea-spoonful of Tartaric Acid, 1 tea spoonful of Carbonate of soda, 1/2 pint of cold milk, the egg and milk to be added just before going to the oven.
