Brown Sugar Cake 1 cup butter 2 " brown Sugar 2 " buttermilk. 1 small teaspoon Each. Allspice Cloves, ginger & nutmeg. 1 cup currants 2 " raisins with 2 small teaspoons Soda melted in a little warm water 5 cups flour. 2 hrs. to bake bake slowly. Makes 2 cakes Tutti - frutti Filling Cover 2 tablespoons granulated gelatine with cold water & set over hot water to melt Boil 2 cups sugar with 8 tablespoons water until it threads pour into melted gelatine, add teaspoon vanilla. Beat in a cool room until thick & white Toward end of beating stir in crystallized fruits or nuts.
