4 qts water & 1 pt salt, pour it over the mixture of vegetables & let it soak 24 hours. Heeat just enough to scald & turn into colander to drain mix 1 cup flour, 6 tbs ground mustard, 1 tbs turmeric with enough cold water to make a smooth paste. Then add 1 cup sugar & enough vinegar to make 2 qts in all. Boil this mixture until it thickens & is smooth, stirring all the time Add veg. & cook until well heated through.
