White Ratifie Three pints of Brandy three ounces of Cherry Kernels two ounces of Apricot Kernels fifteen grains of Cinnamon bruised fifteen grains of Coriander seeds fourteen ounces of Sugar and one pint of boiling water let the whole stand four days & strain it for use. English Noyeau. 2 Ounces of bitter Almonds blanched, 4 ounces of white sugar candy: put into a quart of common Gin. Let it stand for six weeks shaking the bottle often, & afterwards strain the liquor Miss Garrett. Reading. To make Spirits [illegible] Anchovies. Salt them well, & let the salt drain from them, in twenty four hours wipe them dry, but do not wash them - Mix four ounces of common salt, one ounce of bay salt, one ounce of Saltpetre, one quarter of an ounce of Salt pound and half a tea spoonful of Cochineal, all in the finest powder, sprinkle it among three quarts of the fish, & pack them in two stone jars - Keep it in a cold place fastened down with a bladder.
