-65- spent most of her time reading, writing, mending; visiting the neighbors: or out gathering blue berries and mikkels berries; which she tried to keep me supplied with during berry season. And I enjoyed them as a rare, and healthful treat. We felt that our morning bible readings were times of favor and refreshment; also the hour on Forth-day mornings: when we two sat down to have meeting.- When able to be out of bed, I usually had the pleasure of washing the dishes which Georgetta brot to my lap. Our cousins brot their autograph albums over for us to write in; so I was obliged to compose verses for both of us. And in the albums I drew several pictures of birds, roses, a butterfly, and a smiling cat of which Ida Mary was particularly fond: for it reminded her of our humorus Narvestad relatives. Soon the neighbor girls brot their albums too; requesting us to write in them; and me to draw, which I did. Often when I was sitting out of doors Uncle would come and playfully raise the umbrella a little, so the sun could shine on my face and hands: And one day while I was out a gentle shower came up so the girls put a raincoat over my lap, and Ida
