To Aunt Inger, Dear Auntie, I never shall forget That eve' when first we met And thy kindly greeting Of "Velcomen til Norge' sounded good to me As a sermon in a meeting For so sick and tired was I And within I felt a bit shy But in a strange land I found many a willing hand From thy table bountiously spread Did we enjoy sweet cheese gome milk and bread And all around the room so clean Sweet peace and rest there seemed to beam Now 'tis so long yet seemingly short Since we rode up to thy goodly port But the time rolls so swiftly by And the day seems to be drawing nigh When we must from each other part
