Clare's big cookies 1 1/4 of sugar - 3/4 of butter [2 1/2?] of flour leaving out a very little to flour the board and roll over - 4 Eggs - 1 small tea spoonfull of saleratus, dissolved in milk, 1 nutmeg - one glass Brandy - two blades mace - Baked in a quick over 10 minutes - Rub the butter and sugar together - put in the Eggs beaten together - Then the other ingredients. Lastly the flour and put in the oven as quickly as possible - They must be cut rather large, and are very good -
