Fort Madison Iowa Sept 8th /59 William Eno Esq. Dear Sir The enclosed letter was rec'd. by me a few days since. It represents a melancholy state of things with regard to Henry Eno & his little daughter. A letter rec'd. by a nephew of mine who once lived at Campo Seco corroborates the information contained in this letter from Mr. Macky. What can be done for him and the little girl? I feel a deep interest in their welfare and something should be done & that speedily. With much respect I am truly yours John H. Knapp
