St. Louis Mo, Dec 18th /59 William Eno Esq. Dear Sir When I last heard from you, you said you had written your brother Henry that you would take his little daughter Carrie & raise her. As I feel a deep interest in their welfare you will excuse me for troubling you with questions in regard to them. Have you succeeded in getting the little girl yet or made any arrangements for having her brought to you. It seems to me the difficulty would be in getting a suitable person who would be willing to take charge of her on the long passage from
