17 Li [illegible] March 14th 1861 San Francisco Feb 16. 1861 Mr Eno Respected Friend, About Four months ago I wrote to Mary and have not [illegible] an answer since I have ben very anxious to hear from all. she wrote in her last Her Mother was sick is she well again. I have nothing of interest to write and I sometimes think when writing their is so little in this country to interest a stranger that a letter may only be an intrusion upon your time which I supose is allready allways engaged as usual. but pardon me if this be the case I often fancy myself with you all and all it be but imagination. I generally find myself writing
